Museums of Assisi
Walk I includes the Museo della Cattedrale, which is annexed to San Rufino and exhibits important works of art from San Rufino and elsewhere.
Walk III includes:
the Museo Civico, which exhibits remains from pre-Roman and Roman Assisi, also offers access to the Roman forum under Piazza del Comune;
the Treasury of San Francesco, which contains works of art from San Francesco and also from the important Perkins Collection; and
the Pinacoteca, recently relocated in Palazzo Giacobetti (Via San Francesco), which exhibits the intersting municipal art collection.
The Museo della Portiuncula at Santa Maria degli Angeli (which is easily reached by bus or taxi from the city centre) contains works of art from this other important Franciscan Convent of Assisi.
