Outside the City

The most important monument outside Assisi is Santa Maria degli Angeli, which is easily reached by bus from the city centre.

It is possible to walk to the Eremo delle Carceri by continuing for some 4 km along the path outside the walls that leads from Porta dei Cappuccini to the Rocca Minore (see Walk I).  Alternatively, take a taxi and then add on a visit to San Benedetto.
