Temporary Exhibits in the Space
South of the Small Cloister
The room to the south of the
small cloister contains a heterogeneous collection of objects that are
newly exhibited in what might prove to be a temporary location. Those
that were on display in September 2007 are described here.
Etruscan Objects
Black-figured vase (late 6th century BC)
This vase, which is attributed to a painter from the Princeton Group, came from an unspecified necropolis in Orvieto.
Red-figured vase (ca. 460 BC)
This vase, which is attributed to the Painter of the Yale Lekythos, came from the necropolis of the Crocifisso del Tufo, Orvieto.
Antefix (late 4th century BC) of Silenus
This terracotta antefix was discovered in Perugia 1893 near the Poligono di Tiro a Segno (number 28 Borgo XX Giugno – see Walk IV).
Antefix (3rd BC) of Silenus
This terracotta antefix was found on the site of the Duomo, Perugia.
Umbrian Objects
Impasto vase (late 6th or early 5th century BC)
This lidded vase came from Tomb 6 of the Umbrian necropolis at Plestia, near Colfiorito.
Votive bronze (late 5th century BC)
This votive bronze, which seems to be of northern Etruscan manufacture, was found in 1873 near Corciano.
Votive bronze (5th century BC)
This votive bronze warrior was discovered in Fossato di Vico.
Votive bronzes (5th century BC)
These votive bronze warriors were discovered in 1988 on the site of an Umbrian sanctuary on Monte Torre Maggiore, near Cesi.
Votive bronze (early 5th century BC)
This votive bronze figure was discovered in 1959 in Taino, near Gualdo Tadino, which was later the site of Roman Tadinum.
Votive offerings (3rd century BC – 1st century AD)
The terracotta objects illustrated are among a number that were discovered in 2004 in a deposit near the [amphitheatre of Terni].

Head of a boy (1st century AD)
This marble bust came from Spello.
Early Christian Objects
Finds from the Portone Necropolis (ca. 570 –670 AD)

This Lombard necropolis was discovered near Nocera Umbra in 1897.
Retrace
your steps along the south side of the small cloister and continue
ahead. The urns from the hypogeum of the Setna family are displayed in
the small room immediately on the left. Turn left on leaving this small room, continue to the end of the corridor and turn left and up the steps to the Sala dei Bronzi.
