Graziani putto (early 2nd century BC)
This hollow-cast bronze figure of a baby boy takes its name from the fact that it was once in the Graziani collection. It was found in 1587 at Sanguinetto on Lake Trasimeno. The baby holds a bird in his right hand and a ball in his left. An inscription on his right leg identifies the bronze as an offering to the local divinity, Tec Sans, a local deity that protected children. The figure is illustrated in the Museum website.
A smaller bronze figure of this kind that was excavated in 1934 at the presumed site of a temple in nearby Magione is exhibited (with other votive statues from this site) in the Museo Archeologico, Perugia.
