Francesco Graziani (1339 - 54)

He restored episcopal prestige in the city after an interegnum of two years.  He endeared himself to Pope Clement VI in 1345 by his effective preaching of a crusade against the Turks.  In return, Clement VI granted a plenary indulgence  to those contributing to the cost of rebuilding the Duomo.

The new Pope Urban IV created him a Cardinal in 1378.
