Monuments in Amelia
The most interesting monument in Amelia is undoubtedly the city wall, some of which survives from the 5th or 4th century BC. Fragments from the Roman period are embedded in many of the buildings described in the walk.
Torre Civico (see the walk) is one of the few monuments in Amelia that still appear largely as they did in the Middle Ages.
The most prominent families of Amelia flourished in Rome in the 15th - 18th centuries, and their commissions can be seen throughout the city.
